Hello everyone. Rob here.
I think I’ve had the MyFitnessPal app for at least five years, if not more, and this is the first time I have seen this link to the MFP community threads.
Although I’ve used this and MapMyRide for years, I guess I haven’t used them to their full potential or very consistently. I’m determined to change that this year though. It was something my wife said a couple of weeks ago that makes this time feel different. She said she wants me to lose weight and be as healthy as possible because if something happened to me, she would be profoundly lonely. I don’t want that. I don’t want to leave her too soon because of something I could have changed like my eating habits.
So January 1st I started with a 10 mile ride. A couple of days ago I started counting my calories and macronutrients and I hope to lose 40 pounds. God, I can’t even believe I have to lose 40 pounds to be at an optimum weight. How did it get to that? Well here it goes.
I’m hoping to “meet” some people here who I can learn from, be encouraged by, encourage, and share in met health goals.
Here’s to sticking around.
Rob
