What is KeTo?

What is KeTo? I've been hearing a lot about it and have tried looking it up but nothing ever seems to explain what it is and does.

Interesting article from Harvard Medical School here. Might help clear up some mis-information floating around.

That Harvard article is a bit off the mark. The keto diet that people eat for weight loss or maintenance isn't the same keto protocol that children eat to control epilepsy.

Here's a quick and dirty skimming of keto with Lyle McDonald who wrote a great book on keto

It's basically a way of eating that involves a high amount of fat, medium protein and very low carbs. Some people feel very easily satiated when eating this way and hence they are less likely to overeat. Others don't. What makes one feel full is very individual. If you're a volume eater then this might not be for you there's very little high volume food. Makes sense if you compare a ball of 100gr butter and molten sugar: the butter has about 900kcal and the sugar 400kcal. Hence if you want to eat a ball of 400kcal then you get a fairly big sugar ball, but a butter ball more than half the size of the sugar.
