I'm considering a metric century this summer. Has anyone done either a metric or a full century? Most I've ever done in one sitting (heh... sitting! A dad joke about cycling!) is 30 miles.

A 6k trail race (actually just 3k straight up a freaking hill and then back down I guess) in Feb and a 5k at Universal Studios later in the year. Right as I was planning stuff I got sick, will wait till I am 100% before I see what else I am slotting in and when.

Registered for a few halfs in spring and Atlantic City Full Marathon in October but will be throwing my hat into the lottery again for NY. I have run it twice so far and really would like to end my marathon career with a third time.

Cybi Coastal Marathon on 3rd August, Holyhead, North Wales. Hell of a route, but very scenic. Can't wait.

A cycling century? Yea, I've done a few. Lots of metrics centuries.

Someone once told me if I can do 30, I can do a Metric. Is that true? I'm frankly worried about butt-exhaustion much more than leg exhaustion.

Shamrock Run 15K in March and a 4th of July 10K in July. Those are paid for. There's always a 10K on the OR coast that I do with my sister. Other than that, events are starting to price me out :(

That seems like a leap to me...

And yes, part of completely longer distance events is not only being able to pedal that far, but also to be in the saddle that long.

I have some cycling events I'm thinking about, but nothing really gets going until late May. No USAC events this year...those guys are too hard core and I just want to have fun.

Oh duh, I'm also signed up for a 30 mile ride in June.

ROCK AND ROLL Half Marathon Phoenix,az. First half in 6 years. Started running again last summer after a 5 year hiatus during which I gained 35 lbs and lost almost all fitnesses. Now i’m a lean, mean, running machine once more.

Not registered for anything yet, but plan on running a 10K in Hilo, HI in March then a half either in summer or fall. It’s been 3 years since my last half. Maybe Charlevoix, Holland, or Grand Rapids (all MI), whatever doesn’t conflict with my husband’s marathons. He will be finishing his 50 states in September!

I’m registered for my first half in September!

It’s the Revel Big Cottonwood race in Utah. It’s a really pretty area so should be a nice run :)

I've done 190 full centuries ... or longer rides. :)

I'd have to count up the metrics ... lots and lots and lots.

You'd probably want to build up to 2/3 of the distance for a more comfortable 100K.

Meanwhile, I'm signed up for a half marathon on Sunday. Don't feel particularly ready, but fortunately there's a generous time limit.

My husband and I are long distance cyclists, but he had a really, really bad workplace accident last March so our distance cycling has gone out the window. Nevertheless, he's starting to build up again, and we did a 40 km ride about a week ago. :) If all goes well, we'll get up to a metric before the summer's over.

Im in Switzerland, but although Im originally from the UK, Ive never really run a race over there. But this year all my main races are booked for the UK, so looking forward to something different (probably rain, mud and wind, but hey!). Ive got:
    - Lulworth Cove Ultra in March
    - South Downs Way 100 in June
    - Autumn 100 in October

Will probably include a few shorter, local races into the mix along the way, but nothing booked yet.
