Goal is losing 40 w/limited mobility

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. When I was 42 I had a very traumatic event happen in my life and I allowed my emotional eating to take over. Then, when I was 44, I started experiencing serious cervical and spinal issues. I've had both cervical and spinal surgeries since 2016 and my mobility has been hampered. I am 49 and finally in a healthy relationship and now I am at a point where I need to get back to a healthy lifestyle with eating habits and low impact exercising. I actually found some "chair" workout routines that I am going to attempt, along with the elliptical. My workouts on the elliptical will only be about 15 mins at first, but that is better than nothing. Is anyone else limited due to back issues? Any suggestions for exercise would be appreciated.
