    I remember missing my school friends because I lived in the middle of nowhere.

    Now I'm reminiscent of those long summers spent alone, walking around the bird sanctuary that was at the end of the point on the lake I lived on, and reading in the yard.

    Oh I know twas just a dumb joke with an old song lyric! But if they had life jackets they could have had additional buoyancy, I think the Mythbusters did something like that years ago.

    Remember the days before GPS when you had to give people directions to go places. You would tell them to turn left at the third traffic light and then make a right at the Methodist church, continue past the little league field, and if you passed the Exxon station you'd gone to far.
