Water

As I continue to make changes to my diet to improve my overall health, I still have this “hang up” with water. I understand the consumption of water is paramount, but when you are tracking your water, does it only “count” if it’s plain water? Can you count the water that you have added bcaa’s to? I really do not like just plain water, what can I add that is not detrimental?

You need to be hydrated to stay alive, but you can do that with a variety of liquids and even foods. Water is still water, even if you add something to it. You can drink tea, coffee, soda, juice, anything you like. All the water in the foods you eat also contributes to your hydration.6

Yep, that ^^
I drink coffee, Coke Zero, Monster Ultra Zero and water almost every day. I count them all.2 -
i drink no water. but i drink lots of fluids
i am well hydrated1 -
There's really no need to count your water at all, unless you really are someone who gets dehydrated if you don't.
Here's one of many sites that will show you how to tell: https://www.healthline.com/health/urine-color-chart#color-chart
The idea that you have to track water and how much water you consume affects weight loss is basically dieting myth. I wish water caused weight loss, as I've always consumed plenty without thinking about it -- I love cold water.2 -
All liquids other than the sugary stuff should count towards liquids. I count tea and water (that has enhancers in it like bcaa’s). I do not count my coffee but I always aim for 8-10 glasses of water every day. It helps keep our bodies flowing

Sugar doesn't cancel out water, so sugary stuff counts too. You just need to account for the calories (as you would with anything).6 -
Fluids are what keep you hydrated and the hydration part is what's important...not some magical amount of water.0

I don’t track water at all. Unless you know you have a relevant medical concern or problems with hydration, just drink when you’re thirsty and keep an eye on your urine color to gauge hydration.1

I understand the consumption of water is paramount - It isn't.
, but when you are tracking your water, - Why track it at all? Do you have personal problems with staying hydrated?
does it only “count” if it’s plain water? - No, you get your hydration from all food and drink sources (excluding hard alcohol).
Can you count the water that you have added bcaa’s to? - If you want to, it's still water. By the way BCAAs are a complete waste of time and money. Mostly pointless and at best a poor alternative to a more complete protein.
I really do not like just plain water, what can I add that is not detrimental - Not poison? Anything you like the taste of and fits your calorie allowance.

All liquids, even sugary beverages count. Foods have water as well. It all counts towards hydration.
OP, there are many products you can add to water to make the taste appealing. Some people like slices of a citrus fruit in their water. Flavored sparkling waters are popular too. Nothing is detrimental as long as you account for additional calories that you may add.
I prefer ice water. I have a 20 oz mug that I have available all day and on my nightstand when I go to bed.0 -

When I had kidney stones my consultant advised me that "Your urine should be the colour of fine champagne, however if it starts fizzing please come back and see me"
Just drink what you enjoy. Anything containing water will hydrate you, even foods that have a high water content.4
