My first day back on this app as I really need to start eating healthier, I input what I ate today (skipped lunch which I know I can’t do) but even with my breakfast and dinner I’m 800+ calories short of what they say I should have a day, I’m just curious if anyone knows how they calculate that? And if I’m eating healthier what if I don’t make it to the amount of calories? Any input would be great to help me!

You need calories to breath and pump blood and things like that. Consistently undereating can cause a problem with nutrients, resulting in hair loss and other miseries.
MFP calculates how many calories you need to lose at the rate you chose, based on not doing any exercise. So if you are exercising, you need to eat more yet.2 -
Gotcha, thank you for the answer! I initially chose lightly active and to lose 1.5 lbs per week which I’m not sure if that’s realistic but had to pick something lol0

1.5 a week is fine. Not too fast not too slow.0

Skipping lunch is fine. I skip breakfast. It’s all your personal preference.1
