edited December 2024 in Goal: Maintaining Weight
Hey guys
I’m trying to maintain and I use an Apple Watch (not sure what speck) and I was looking at my total calories burned today which is 2200 (daily moving +exercise)
I’ve never thought about this until just now but does that mean that today I could have eaten 2200 calories and still be maintaining or just stick to my usual 1800 calories

IF the 2200 burned was accurate, AND you actually ate 2200 - then yes.

The problem is neither side of that equation is totally accurate.

Watch the weight within a range (since water weight easily fluctuates 5 lbs), and even better, measure the spot you gain fat first and track that.

For a woman whose metabolism literally will vary within a month, even weekly fluctuations in weight won't be meaningful, but a monthly compare of weight and a measurement can be great.

Trendweight and other apps will let you log weight and another stat and keep an eye on it for meaningful change.
