Dog Bite - was bitten while running

I was bitten by a dog while out jogging on Christmas eve and not been running since as the wound has not closed 100%.
I don't want to get it infected but do I wait u till it's completly closed or is it ok to start running again as my marathon training is falling behind. I got up to 10miles and marathon is end of April. it's my first one

have you had the wound checked out that you don't need stitches or anything?

Thanks, I went to A&E they have me anti biotics and say can't stitch incase it gets infected as it's a dog bite and I clean the dressing every 2 days. I was lucky the owner was close. I had scratches and small bites but only one deep tooth mark left that's still healing.

Has anyone run with wounds ? or better to wait until 100% healed ?

not an experience i've had, i'd probably go with if it doesn't hurt to run on it, then try a couple of miles and see how it goes? you just don't want to make it worse.

    sorry, i'm not much help!

Just keep it CLEAN. Even if it drains after you run, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Watch out for funky smell and /or red streaks. Changing those dressings often is the ticket.
