    MFP macros are fine

Macro % is not very good. Protein should be about .7-1g/lb of weight. Fat .35-.6g/lb and the rest should be carbs.

Does the above Protein / Fat / Carbs calculation apply to diabetics? This potentially leaves a high portion of the diet as carbs and therefore sugar.

Diabetics generally want to reduce carbs and increase fats or even proteins. Also, when you do get carbs, prioritize fibrous ones.

It doesn't really matter - set them based on your eating preferences or whatever will help set you up for success.

Most people start with either the MFP recommended macros or a more balanced split of 30/30/40 or 35/35/30 depending on preferences.
