Have you come across quick microwave sides: veggies or grains that you recommend? Sauce included or not. Calories around 150 or less per serving.

Love steamer bags of CA blend veggies. Most grocery stores carry their own generic brand (usually around $1 and each bag has several servings, though I eat a whole bag with a meal). I use several bags a week and add them to rice, beans, with different sauces etc. Back when I used frozen entrees I'd also add a bag to those.

The Aldi steamer bags are around 120 calories for the whole bag, I believe? No added sauce just cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.

I buy the green giant steamers. My favorites are the honey glazed carrots and antioxidant blend. They also have a few others and some lightly sauced options. I also really like the Bird's Eye mashed cauliflower because I can't be bothered to make it myself but don't even bother with their steamable veggies, they've all been gag inducing. For a cheaper alternative I buy bags of frozen broccoli, brussel sprouts and other veggies at Sam's club. They're cheap and just as good as fresh veggies but last way longer. Super quick to microwave and sometimes I'll add some laughing cow cheese or nutritional yeast and seasoning for flavor.

I like the BirdsEye pasta steamers and the cauliflower ones, too.
