Smaller losses when approaching normal weight range?

Hi MFPers

I’ve managed to get back in to watching my calories after Christmas but seem to be at a plateau with my weight (this has been ongoing for about 8 weeks).

I would like to lose another 1stone 11lbs but to be JUST within my healthy range, I’d need to lose 1 stone 7lbs.

At this stage in my loss journey, should I be expecting smaller losses? Does expecting less of a loss depend on your healthy range e.g. as you get nearer? I’d love to get this last stone and 11 lbs off once and for all, I’m so happy with my loss so far.

It's perfectly reasonable to expect a reduction in rate of loss as you approach normal weight and have less fat to lose.

I purposely slowed mine at about 10 pounds above normal BMI because being 5'2 and having a desk job/not terribly active, I don't get a ton of food anyway. I'm now within healthy BMI and still losing slowly. Just keep plugging away. Consistency is key. Be the tortoise, not the hare

the less you have to lose, the longer it takes and the more important accurate logging becomes.

My loss rate started slowing a bit about 15 pounds from goal. At that point, I upped my exercise by adding weights to what I had previously been doing. I am still losing at .5 to 1 pound a week. I am 1.7 pounds from goal. And, I gave also upped my calories just a bit (about 150 a day).
