I give up my seat for the elderly, women (especially if pregnant), and disabled. I open the car door for my wife and hold doors open for others.

Life has taught me that sweet gets you taken advantage of. It’s better to pretend you’re jaded and have no feelings at all for self protection and only let the people that matter see the sweetness. 🤷‍♀️

    This made me frown face

Yesterday, my daughter said to me: "Wow, that was a *kitten* thing to say."

    The situation:

She and I were walking from a restaurant, across the parking lot to my car. We were approached by a lady dragging a small, unkept, child behind her. "Excuse me, I need some money. Can you give me some money; we need food."

My reply: "Sure, do you have change for a fifty ?"

    was this compassionate?

    .... my billfold thought so.

    *shrug

I adopted 2 dogs that were very abused, nursed one of them back to great health. You can't tell she was ever abused now.

My son used to love bringing me animals he would find that was almost dead. One time he brought me a baby squirrel, it must have fallen out of the tree, but it was almost dead and we took care of it and got it back on its feet. He wanted to keep it, I had no issues with that, my husband, no, he wasn't going to. He called them the wood's rat.

Doctored a cat once that was a stray, he was bitten by a spider and got him well, even paid money to take him to a vet, he survived, we kept him, 2 weeks later an owl killed him :(.

I used to crochet blankets for the homeless.
