33 yo shortie trying to lose ~15-20 lbs. Anybody with me?

Hi! I'm Liz. I'm 3 yo and 5'1" (155 cm). My old new year resolution of losing 10 lbs because 15+ pounds after several years of slowly gaining... Now I'm really hoping that through dedication I can slowly reach my goal. I don't want drastic, I don't want to starve - I want slow but sustainable. My goal is to slowly increase my activity through daily exercise and focus on eating healthy. Starting January 1, I dedicated to working out every day, even if it's just 15 minutes of stretching or gentle yoga. I have been also prepping my meals at home instead of eating out and counting my calories and macros. I would love new friends with similar goals - please shoot me a short message about yourself with your invite so we can start getting to know each other

I'm older than you but also with about 10 pounds to lose. Also a shortie. I'm not going fast, I'm wanting it to be permanent. I like what you have written as your goals. I have tried meal prepping but most of the recipes I have found for foil wrapped meals have not been very good. Soups and stews portioned up and then frozen work better for me. I haven't been working out at all so I think that will be my first focus. Sharing and encouragement back and forth would be awesome.

Hi Katie! This is my first post. Trying to find newbies like me with similar goals. I was always thin growing up and eating junk, built terrible habits that finally started to cause changes when I was about 20. Gained a few pounds slowly here and there. Started to not like my appearance and did some yo-yo ups and downs of 5-15 lbs over the last handful of years. Most recently at the age of 30 now, I’ve hit my largest. I knew my scale was going up for the last couple of years but I couldn’t see or feel it, then my thighs started to get thick and fit tightly in my scrubs (I’m a nurse)! I hated that feeling. I recognize that in the past year (I started a new and excited relationship) which has lead to lots of going out to dinner, ordering takeout, cooking delightful but oversized meals together. I’m extremely week about my food decisions, it has always been a comfort. I have hid my eating from a lot of friends because I could easily go to the drive through, or eat half a Dominos pizza plus chicken wings, candy, ice cream, soda, chips... continent store SNACKS. Such a waste of time and money, so much sugar and added crap. So now here I am 21 days into logging 99% of what I eat everyday. I’m down a few pounds already as I have myself in a deficit to lose 1lb per week. Started at my highest weight 157lbs and today I was at 152.? I can’t recall without checking MFP. I weigh myself daily as a motivator but when I see it go UP I’m ok because I know fluctuation is normal. (PS I’m 5’ 5’) My goal is first and foremost to develope a healthier relationship with food and feel like I CAN control myself but also not deprive myself. For me that means some clear boundaries to start. Currently: No dairy (except Friday nights we have family pizza Friday so I indulge/cheat/treat), no sweets or deep fried foods. My calories are limited to 1400 daily, which I’m 95% successful at. Usually one day a week is over but it’s working. I try to be good about my macros but in all focused on calories. I’m not currently exercising as I’m seeing a specialist for back/neck issues and he hasn’t cleared me yet. I want to get back into some fitness classes a few days a week just to get started. Anyways that’s kind of the most of it. Looking for someone to share this with and would love to hear all about your journey thus far.
