I actually count diet soda and coffee as part of my water intake. I typically only drink water if my pee isn’t a pale yellow color.

I pretty much only drink coffee, some water and beer on the weekend.

New goal for this year..water! Lots of water for me.

Hydration is what is important. There is no magical amount of water to drink...everyone's needs are going to be different. Over-hydrating can be just as bad as being dehydrated as you deplete electrolytes when you over-hydrate. The color of your urine will tell you if you're adequately hydrated or not.

I live in the desert at over a mile high in elevation and exercise regularly in temperatures in excess of 100* in the summer...my hydration needs would be greater than someone living at sea level in a temperate climate who is more or less sedentary.

"Thus, a human being needs to replenish the roughly 2 litres of water they lose every day from sweating, breathing, and urination."

So, just so I understand correctly after reading. I only need 2 liters a day? So, 60oz in water or included with other liquids and food?

Just about any liquid (even caffeinated) and plenty of foods count towards hydration. If your urine is pale yellow, you're good.

Well that sounds easier. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
