I eat a fair number of subway salads but I always add to them when I get them home. I got one today and when I got home I added carrots, artichoke hearts, and bamboo shoots. I also have a pre-made dressing with roasted garlic, pickled ginger, dijon, lemon juice, acv, worcestshire, and S&P mixed with a stick blender. I add the olive oil to the salad separately.

One quick note though on logging. IME, Subway salads are very often if not usually heavier than the grams listed on the nutrition information and sometimes that is as much as double the weight. Since the chicken portion is more of a constant and because I am sort of lazy I log the chicken salad and then I log a veggie delite salad to cover the excess. I would always rather log too much than not enough and it screws up the protein macro if you try to log it as the actual weight of the chicken salad.

Eat whatever you like but personally I believe that variety is the spice of life.

Just a suggestion but salsa is very low calorie and a nice substitute for dressing! I would think Subway would have salsa!

or the 25 calorie dressing packs that come with the salad.

I've never seen packets of dressing at a Subway. But then again, I always get a sandwich, not a salad. And I don't have them put mayo or oil or any sauce with fat on it usually, because that's not how I choose to spend my calories. I get plenty of juicy, tasty veggies on my sandwich, so it's not dry or bland. And cheese, usually. Unless I'm getting a BLT.

I prefer plain sliced avocado to guac -- especially on a BLT! -- but I could definitely see using it as a spread on the bread (like mayo, only 10,000 times better tasting). I had avocado toast, made with homemade wheat bread and topped with an over-medium egg, for breakfast this morning. So delicious!

I just realized it has been quite some time since I have had a BLT. I need to put that on my upcoming list. Not from Subway though. Their bacon is so bad it should be criminal.

Ohhh I'm gonna make a BLT salad. I need some filler tonight, left myself with less than 600 cals for dinner.

The Subways here do not have packets of dressing - the various dressings/ sauces are all in bottles and the staff put on whichever one you want ( if any)

Maybe Subways in some other places are different ??

Oh, I didn't know that not all carried it! When I go I just say "and what dressing packets do you have", or I pick the fat free dressings when ordering through the app. I thought all of them had that, but it must vary by state, sorry!

They'll put the sauces in a little cup if you ask for the sauce on the side.

Try Oli+Ve balsamic vinegars in lieu of dressing. They are only about ten calories a tablespoon and that’s more than enough imho. A little goes a long way. Especially like their balsamic fig, and their blackberry ones. They have a honey & ginger that is tangy and tasty and a great sub for soy or teriyaki in a stir fry.

Thanks for all the answers. I've been eating the same things everyday for over a month, and I've lost 20 pounds. Eating the same everyday seems to be working for me. I've tried the Subway salad before, and I would get bored of them. But this time around, I have newfound willpower. Haven't touched any sweets or chips since I stopped mid December.

20 lbs in a month is a very aggressive rate of loss. How much weight are you trying to lose? How many total calories are you eating? How many calories is your exercise burning - leaving you with a net intake of ???

As others have said - you don’t need to eat the same things every day and relying on willpower to achieve goals doesn’t sound like a sustainable long term plan. What will you do after you achieve your goal? Will you keep eating the same foods only more of them?
