How to gain muscle and not stomach fat?

I’m skinny and I want to gain muscle. Any advice on how to eat more without getting stomach fat as that’s where I gain first, and just gaining muscle is general?

To gain muscle you should be in a calorie surplus and utilize a progressive lifting routine. You will gain some fat with this unless you choose to recomp (maintenance calories and progressive lifting routine), but this is typically a slow process. You can't choose where your body gains/loses fat unless you have lipo.

Unfortunately where and how you gain fat will be up to genetics. If you keep your surplus reasonable (0.5lb per week or less), get adequate protein (0.8-1g per lb bodyweight) and make sure you are following proper programming, then that should help reduce fat gains.

Do you already have a lifting routine where you've gained some muscle? If not, at first you can generally gain some with no or less of need to gain weight.
Otherwise, gains tend to involve either rather slow recompositions, or require something of a caloric surplus. Generally the idea is to eat just enough calories over maintenance (~200 calories surplus a day seems sufficient) to avoid putting on too much fat with the muscle, and then doing a weight loss diet while maintaining strength.
And there is little ability to alter where your body gains or loses its fat shy of surgery or drugs.
