Traveling workouts

Hey everyone,
I am seeking some basic advice on simple 1 hour workouts to aid in losing weight and gain strength. I am 27, 5’ 10, 231. I have been cutting junk out of my diet, including beer. (I’ll miss you) I struggle with travel. I travel 3 days a week and don’t always have access to equipment. So currently I am playing some basketball local pickup a couple days a week and walking the treadmill. I want advice on strength training I could do at home and maybe on the road. At home I have Smith machines. On the road often no access. Diet tips are always welcome too. My long term goal is 195.

google: Jail Cell Workouts. (body weight stuff. no weights but it can be great workout)
stay at hotels with gyms; you can do a lot with lightweight dumbbells from a hotel gym. I typically do shoulder training at hotel gyms if it fits into my training program time wise.
Diet is going to be 90% of the equation (or more) when it comes to losing weight (fat).1 -
Invest in some resistance bands & possibly TRX (or similar apparatus) for bodyweight stuff. Kind of wish I had this type of equipment available in my life previously when **** got chaotic traveling non-stop for several consecutive months (school related). Easy for setup & transportation2

Beachbody Insanity is a 60 day calisthenics program. I thoroughly recommend it.
On a daily basis, I wake up early, do an insanity workout (40 to 50 mins depending on the day), take my kid to school, then hit the gym to do some lifting. At night I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Yoga.
When I travel for work, i take the insanity workouts with me and do them in the hotel gym or in the room if I get a ground floor room and I add the additional Ab workout that comes with it.
total of about 1:10 mins for both.1 -
You'll never go wrong with push-ups and air squats (squats without weights) done together as a superset over and over for a time that aligns with your current abilities. You can toss in, for example, 30 seconds of running and make it a 3-activity superset - push-ups, air squats and running. Rinse, wash and repeat for best results. Your mileage may vary.1

I agree with the suggestion of resistance bands. You can find plenty of youtube videos to make it easy to do a workout in your hotel room. When I travel, I also like to explore the local area on foot. I usually ask the front desk for recommendations on safe and interesting places to run. It's almost always better than hitting the hotel treadmill.
As for diet tips, I try and do a little research on the area in advance and decide on a restaurant that has healthy options near my hotel. If I don't do this, I usually find myself exhausted in my hotel room looking for a place to eat and I end up grabbing fast food out of hunger and frustration. A little advance planning goes a long way.1 -
I joined the black mbership w planet fitness because they are everywhere and when I do travel I have full access to a normal routine.1

Thanks for all the replies so far there as been some really great advice. I am going to get some bands, also the 3 activity super set sounds like a great useful and simple workout, and of course simple suggestions like walking to near by areas is smart. I drive so much when I arrive in my final destination walking would be good for me.0

You could check out the seven minute workout app. I generally do a round of it before or after running, but you could do it two or more times in a row for a pretty solid bodyweight workout.0
