Planet Fitness Schedule

I went to one of those meetings with the personal trainer where she asks what your goals are etc and makes you up a schedule.
Before I got the schedule (took about a week to make) I was just doing the elliptical for 40 mins and 5-10 mins of weight lifting. I would leave every day sweaty but not very sore. Now my schedule has a lot more weight lifting and focuses on specific areas each day (have days 1-5) but only have cardio 3/5 days. I’m most definitely sore but not as sweaty as before.

Should I just stick to the plan or add more cardio? Idk why but in my mind it seems the more sweat/ the more calories burned. Is this not true?

I will avoid ranting about Planet Fitness...and will tell you that soreness and sweat do not correlate with calories burned. Ultimately, building muscle is likely a better place to spend your time than cardio. However, if you have a plan that someone (possibly a professional) worked on with you, I would continue with it. That doesn't mean it won't need to change over time, but for now there doesn't seem to be an obvious reason to change.

It certainly doesn't hurt to ask the trainer who helped create this program.

FWIW, the PF in my community doesn't require any certification to be a trainer. May want to check qualifications, I'm sure experiences will vary.

I am not a sweat-er. I just don't sweat a lot. But my Apple Watch has my heart rate at 125-145 during my workouts (I know that's not an exact reading but I also know my heart rate is elevated during my workouts) so I know I'm working hard
