Recovering...

I'm in the process of changing the way I view my body... This will sound crazy I think, or maybe not, but I used to want to gain weight purposely... I've had the discussion with myself as of late, and have made the choice to be fully vested in being healthy, and active. having hit 400 pounds was an enormous motivator, especially when you realize that it's not at all how you thought it would feel or be...

My thing is, is there ANYONE out there that can relate? At all? Being able to talk about how you broke free from it would be amazing... but any support is awesome too!

I think it depends what is influencing your view of yourself. For example, if you're comparing yourself to others then avoiding certain social media sites or pages would help.

Appreciating what your body is capable of also helps distract from focusing solely on the physical being. Not even just fitness related but appreciating how amazing the human body is and all of the functions it automatically does for us to keep us alive. This requires us to do our part to keep ourselves healthy so maybe focus on that instead.

I think you’ll find that most people here are obsessed with their body image, negatively and sometimes even positively. Good luck to you on your journey of self acceptance 👍🏼
