A few things I always have on hand/ eat a lot of:

    eggs
    avocados
    almond milk
    Peanut or almond butter
    Baby spinach or kale
    chicken breast
    ground turkey
    lean ground beef
    cauliflower
    spaghetti squash
    mushrooms
    zucchini
    bananas
    garlic
    onions
    celery
    bell peppers
    tomatoes
    beans
    tuna
    tomatoes

If you need recipe ideas, I get a lot from skinnytaste.com. I don't do pasta/ mashed potatoes/ or rice so I substitute spaghetti squash, zucchini noodles, or cauliflower "rice" or mash whenever they are in a recipe. her site is great, it's very rare I make something I don't like. also, her recipes are already in the mfp database.

I kind of just wing it when I go grocery shopping, is that bad? lol I make whatever out of the food I buy. I mean, I have certain things that I buy all the time like flaxseeds, organic peanut butter, oats, almond milk, etc. But usually when I go shopping I like to change it up and on a whim. I just kind of go with my gut instinct

I'm like Juantonbliss, I used to just wing it. However, I found that this program was totally worth it to me especially with a family. We not only want be healthy, but really needed to stay on a budget (www.mealplans4thefamily.com). I highly recommend it.
