I haven't, but I'd like to say you don't need to go to extremes to loose weight.

Just take 500 calories out a day, and youll get where you want to be eventually.

Take it week by week. What you do in a day doesn't matter (go ahead and eat those wings), what you do in a week does.

i have zero interest in drinking my foods.

to lose weight you simply need to take in fewer calories than your body uses over time. You can achieve this eating normal food in moderate portions (the entire point of this webpage). you do'nt need to do any cleanses or fad diets.

You can eat and drink anything you want as long as it doesn’t put you over your calorie goal. Weight loss is caused by staying in a calorie deficit, not by eating or avoiding certain foods and drinks.

As others have said, it's about the amount of calories you consume, not where those calories come from. I primarily drink water, but I also have black coffee fairly frequently, tea every so often (which I don't always sweeten), and soda maybe once a month. It hasn't negatively affected my ability to lose weight.

It's really is all about the calories - caffeine does give a slight metabolic boost but not really enough to be worth counting.

However, some people may find some drinks help them stay within their calories better than others. For example, soda makes me crave salty, greasy foods like French fries. Cutting soda helps me cut other high calorie foods. And coffee with a little almond milk and cinnamon works as a substitute for higher calorie sweet desserts for me. So in my specific case, one is not helpful and the other one is. Another person might be the complete opposite of me. Keep logging and eating mindfully and you will figure out what works for you.

I drink at least 24 oz of milk, coffee, and tea every day (in addition to water.) Plus diet pop a couple of times a week and a regular can of Coke once a week as well.

It does come down to calories.

+1 to the point that the calories are the only thing that matters for weight loss, not what form or food they arrive in (but good nutrition is important for health, of course, and food choices affect satiation so may affect sustainability of reduced calories).

Many people find that drinking calories is not as filling as eating them. But many of the things you list have no calories, unless you're talking about pop with regular sweeteners. Coffee and tea calories are negligible, unless/until you add other stuff to them (cream, sugar, sweetened flavorings, etc.).

While losing weight I drank quite a lot of the following: Plain herb tea, kefir, coffee with skim milk, skim lattes (no flavor).

Now that I'm in maintenance, I also drink once a week or so: Craft beer, wine, the occasional hot cocoa or hot chocolate, the occasional cocktail-type drink, the occasional juice (orange, tomato or V8, usually). I drank most of these occasionally while losing, too, just not as often on reduced calories.

If you're worried about whether the other beverages count like water for hydration purposes, yes, they do. (They're not diuretic enough to cancel out their hydration). Even alcoholic drinks count, to the extent the liquid is water or water-equivalent (the liquid content that's straight alcohol doesn't count). Foods with high water content also count (soups, many fruits, etc.) toward hydration. If your urine is pale yellow or lighter in color, you should be fine.

I buy several dozen cans of sugar-free liquids weekly. I consume about half of them and my family consume the rest. Six cans of sugar-free coke = zero calories. You remind me. I'm going to go get another.

That, and 3.5 gallons of coffee every week.

Are you thinking about increasing your liquid calories since you have been underconsuming food?
