Is it better to eat 200 calories under or over your daily amount. Last two nights I had an extra 200 and did not eat them. I will figure out a way to get them in during the day . I am tracking in the morning so I know what I have

Don’t obsess on the daily; some days I am over 100-200 and others I am under. Binge days I can eat 1000 or more over.
It does all average out and I like a weekly assessment, or even monthly review of my progress more so than daily.
Here’s a snap of my progre
ss graph - I started on 9/4/18. This makes it easier to accept the fluctuations (the ups and downs) because, overall it is a steady downward trend and that IS my ultimate goal . I have 40 pounds still to go. I figure it will be close to a year before I have it off and managed to settle into maintenance.
Good luck to us all!

Yeh I agree with Amy.
The other part of this is that even though I've been logging food using a digital food scale for years, I accept that this isn't a perfect process (the logging part) and that I probably make 200 calories in errors pretty much every day. Close enough is the best I can do, even if I plan meticulously.
Just get in the ballpark. Within 200 calories is fine.1 -
I tend to look at the weekly caloric average rather than the daily specifics. As long as the totals for the week are within range, the daily fluctuations are irrelevant because life happens.2

It is very important that under normal circumstances your calories average out over 7 days to be in a healthy range for you. As long as you don't go to any extreme like running a really high deficit for multiple days straight it is not very important if you have peaks and valleys in your eating habits.
What is really important is that you manage yourself properly. If you work and/or exercise you may need to put certain limits on how far under and how many days in a row before you eat more. I have my own because I have had low appetite days for as long as I can remember and that includes periods I wasn't trying to lose weight.1 -

Very well said. I always ensure that I’ve netted an absolute minimum of 1200cal on any given day. My allowance is just shy of 1700. Falling anywhere between those two I’m happy.
