New Year, New Goals

Hello Everyone, I’m new to MFP. I’m almost 49 and lost my mother earlier this year. I can’t help but wonder if she had been more active would she have lived longer. I want to live a really long time. I want to be around to love and guide my kids and one day grandkids through life. It seems as though every 10 years I add on another 10 lbs. I’m up to 145, the most I’ve ever been other than when I was pregnant. My goal is to lose 20-25 lbs. I know I will feel so much better and healthier. I’m also having knee surgery in 3 weeks and I know I will not be able to exercise much during recovery (any sit down exercises are appreciated) so I want to get a jump start on my weight loss now so I don’t add more weight after my surgery. Thanks so much for reading my post and thanks in advance for all encouragement. I hope I can be encouraging for y’all too.
