Adding home-cooked meals to the calorie counter?

How do you guys do that? Add each ingredient individually? It seems like it would be very inaccurate. For example tonight I'm making gourmet mac & cheese with broccoli, olive oil, salt & pepper, roma tomatoes, sharp cheddar, extra milk, garlic cloves and onions.
I'm new here and trying to figure out how all this works.

Why would adding each thing you're putting in be inaccurate?
Just make sure you're weighing the amount you're adding and it should all work out in the end.0 -
I take some of the dishes I make on a regular basis and create recipes. Saves lots of time on things I make all the time. I don't add the recipes to the general database (so as not to clutter up things) so I'm the only one that can add them to my food counters.0
