I've been taking some fishoil capsules recently, but i'm really wondering if i need to be taking this everyday? Reason i'm taking this rn is because of some sort of depression and just because its good for the heart. I'm already eating 125 grams of salmon everyday and sometimes a can of tuna for the proteins since i'm a bodybuilder, but would i be consuming excessive fishoil if i already eat some fish on the daily basis?

thanks and lemme know :)

You should be good with those servings of salmon and tuna. American Heart Association recommends two 3.5 oz servings of fatty fish a week. For depression I guess you just have to see how it makes you feel. How long have you been taking it? I felt no difference in mood taking fish oil. It did give me relief from the back pain I was having at the time though. I just eat salmon now once a week to go along with the many plant-based sources of omega-3's I consume.

Other than the extra few calories I am not sure this is any harm in taking it and having more than you need. I take it which is insane considering how much fish I eat and that my omegas test through the roof (highest the doctor had ever seen).

There appears to be some information out there suggesting that too much could impact on blood sugar, blood pressure and blood thickness. I only skimmed so nothing I read was evidence but it might be an idea to do a bit of proper research.

I had a strange reaction to them when I was taking them, they made me over produce saliva, in the way you do just before you vomit when your mouth starts watering. It was very disconcerting and took me ages to figure out what was causing it as it would happen randomly throughout the day. I stopped taking them and it went away. I only mention this in case anyone else reading your post is having this issue.

But my main point would be that as you are obviously getting a lot of fish oil in your diet why waste your money on supplements you don't need.
