Anyone that’s trying to lose weight and have that “illusion of an hourglass figure” with strength training and cardio please leave me down below what program do you recommend that will get me results and what some tips to follow? I really want to see a change this year. Let’s help each other out!

I don’t know yet. I’m confused I pick ones and it only explaines the workout, I need to see like a chart or something.

What equipment do you have available? There are multiple programs for everything from body weight only to full gym.

Strong Curves. Go purchase the book by the man you’ve been talking about previously. It’s like $25 USD. There are charts and pictures along with explanations.

There’s dumbbells, bench press, Smith machine leg press, for the calves, for biceps and chest etc.

OP, if you're just wanting someone to tell you which one to choose, do this. It's a good option for you, and you'll feel better having a set structure to follow.

I just don’t see enough programs. I click on some but it only has an explanation of the program, do you have to purchase them somewhere or how does that work?

I just don’t know what to follow. But I do want a thicker lower body and lose weight from everywhere since I have a bunch of back fat.

Well, following a deficit your body will lose fat where it will. That said, I'm a guy, but I've seen numerous women recommend that Strong Curves and would go with that.

To be perfectly honest, as a beginner any reputable, vetted program like that will do you fine. Once you've advanced and learned more you'll be able to make a more informed choice of programs to follow.

edit: Congrats on finally getting started by the way. :)

You can't pick a desired body shape and then pick a program that would give anyone that body shape. Your genetics will play a roll regardless.

Your profile says you have 41 lbs to lose. You really don't know what you are going to look like once you lose those extra lbs. Focus on that, and pick a program that sounds like you'll enjoy it to maintain your muscle. Then when you get close to goal weight, you will know where you are already naturally more muscular and where you seem to be retaining fat, and make a more specific choice from there.

To be very general, Strong Curves was specifically designed for women and is glute focused, so maybe that would be the best one to go with. It is a book, with very detailed instructions, and several different variations to choose from. Honestly, you are suffering from analysis paralysis. No one workout is going to make you look exactly like you want to look, and you are looking at a good solid year at least until you know what you're working with. You will probably need to make changes as you go. The pictures online you see of women who have the body you want worked for YEARS to get there, and probably changed their plan as they went based on how their results led them. Just order Strong Curves off Amazon and get started

With 41 pounds to lose (according to your profile) you've got a while before you have to worry about that level of fine tuning.

Also, you can't spot reduce or pick what stays 'thick' and what gets 'thin' with your weight loss.

I know I can’t but I’ve lost weight before and my legs get skinny and my stomach is the last to go. So I really want to focus on my lower body strength so I can have muscle while I’m losing weight because I don’t want skinny legs nor a flat butt.

Then you already have some idea of what your body shape is going to tend toward and what your challenges are going to be. That's great.

Strong Lifts Curves. Although SL is good as well

Then do Strong Curves as has been suggested a bunch of times. Go get the book...quit stalling.

    Pull the trigger.

    Stronglifts 5X5.

I was going to say this as well. Since you're confused on what to do, start with Strong Lifts. There is a great write up on the website, they have a simple app, and there are videos on each exercise. You'll learn how to do the fundamental compound exercises that will get you working your full body. After a few months, or more, you can move on to strong curves or which ever program you're interested in.
