What is the recommended amount of sodium per day?

Depends how active you are. But generally 2300-3500mg is an ok target. But honestly the recommendations might not match your actual needs. I personally tend to get 5000mg a day.0

It depends on how hot it is where you live. If you sweat a lot you need more salt.
Do you have high blood pressure? Then your doctor might ask you to reduce your salt intake.0 -
Sodium restriction is for post cardiac event patients and persons who are retaining enough water that their shoes don't fit right. Persons with high blood pressure can try sodium restriction, but it is not really the safe alternative.0
