My newest journey

John Corraro, morbidly obese. I started my latest weight loss journey January 3rd of this year, when my cardiologist told me to "lose weight or have a stroke". I chose lose weight; again. I changed up my eating habits and eliminated sugar and foods processed with sugar. I found sugar is the enemy. I'm cooking all my meals using recipes from "Chef John" of FoodWishes.com. It's all normal food, not "lose weight fast with diet dishes" stuff, but there are literally 100's of recipes to choose from. I cook small batches so the dish will last me for two or three feedings throughout the week. I also feed my soulmate at the same time and she says it's delicious. I found that without the sugar in my diet I don't get the cravings for sweets or get hungry between meals. I also stumbled onto intermittent fasting because I don't have a desire to eat all the time. I'm not fighting off the urge to splurge. I eat one or two meals between 2pm and 8pm, and maybe a snack before bed (yogurt with walnuts or cottage cheese with fruit). I also find that hunting for the nutrients is better than counting calories. I've discovered beans and green, leafy vegetables. I need to start eating fish. I'll have to find some recipes. I need to keep it up this time because I think my life depends on it. Thanks to anyone who cares to share. John
