Even the Dr was impressed

Yesterday morning I went to see my Doctor to get back on the pill. Well, to go on the combined because I'd nearly got out of the obese BMI category so it was safe to.
Because I'd not quite got below a BMI of 30, I thought I'd just be told to come back when I'd lost a few more pounds. However, my doctor was forgiving and saw that because I was 0.1 points away from getting under 30, she allowed it and gave me a prescription (yay!). Also, she said I'd lost 10kg since my last visit (which was before Christmas last year). That's 22lbs (1 stone 8lbs). January was the first time I'd weighed myself in about a year so I had no idea what I was when I was weighed at the Dr's the last time. She didn't tell me, she just said 'you need to lose 10kg then we can give you the combined pill'. So as it turns out, I lost about 3 or 4lbs over Christmas and at the beginning of January, which I didn't know about, and, as you can see on my ticker, have lost just over a stone more since then. Yay!
Though I was there just to go on the pill, I did ask her about losing weight and she told me that the yo-yoing temperamental scales (lb up, lb down every so often) is perfectly normal and a calorie controlled effort with regular exercise is the best way to approach it so I'm using the best method. She reitterated the common knowledge of 'if you lose alot very quickly, you'll put it back on again very soon, if you lose steadily and get your body used to fewer calories and a healthier lifestyle, it'll stay off'. I also told her about MFP and the iPhone app (I don't use it but I know several of you do) so she actually wanted to sign up. Just as I was about to leave, she asked me more about it haha!
Also, a mini success: I'm home with my Mum for a few weeks now to save on bills at my student house so I had a browse at some of the clothes I bought a year or two ago that were too big. I tried a belt just to see because it used to not even get a complete circle around me (or at least a very tight one) and I've got a good few inches spare so I put it on! A jacket/hoodie that was at least a size too small before fits as well! Yay! I'm definitely taking my inches tomorrow morning and updating that.
Loving this.

On my last Dr. visit my Dr. was impressed also, even had one of her staff go log onto MFP and check it out. She is now recommending it to ppl over the weightloss surgeries everyone around here is wanting. Thinking they are a miracle cure. I know for some ppl surgery is necessary, but in this area it seems everyone wants it weather it is recommended by Dr or not. Thinking that if they do that they do not have to work on changing eating and exercise habits and that is not true. I have some close friends who had the surgery and they work hard to keep making the changes. Anyway that is way off topic but...... Great job and keep it up MFP works and thats for sure.0

That's great! Good on you!
It feels good when the doctor says they are impressed with you0 -
How wonderful!!! You must be so pleased. The only thing I would caution you about is your continued weight loss while on the pill. The pill can make it more difficult to lose weight in some people. So just a thought. I LOVE how many people get turned on to this site when you explain to them it is what you are using. My nutritionist was very impressed when I brought in a weeks worth of printed reports and daily diaries. And it makes it so easy to answer the doctor when they they have a question regarding eating or how often you are exercising. They can see for themselves!0

All it does is gives you a bit more of an appetite, it doesn't make you put on weight if you don't let it. I lost half a stone when I was on the pill last time so I know I can get over that hurdle. It's gonna be all good0
