Ready to WORK!

Hello,
My name is Bre and I am 23 years old and in the worst shape of my entire life. I just tipped over 200lb mark this past year and am ready to make a change. My whole life I have always been chubby, I have yet to meet the confident skinny girl waiting inside myself. Growing up my father was always verbally abusive about my weight, telling me how disappointed he was in me because of my figure. He has been a body builder and personal trainer my whole life, but since my parents were divorced I never had the benefit of living with him to learn healthy habits and an active lifestyle. Instead I feared him and rebelled by eating junk food and playing video games. Later on in my teens I was molested, so you get the idea of where my self esteem issues rooted from.
It wasn't until 6 years ago meeting my boyfriend that I learned to love and trust. My mother and stepfather were also very loving and supportive, and I learned to be okay with myself. But that was it, I was okay with myself but not in love with myself. My boyfriend lives the same lifestyle as myself, in front of a computer or TV most of the time (we are gamer nerds). But he naturally has such a great body. He eats like a black hole, whatever he wants and doesn't gain a pound. I have been envious forever about this quality, if I eat half as much as he does I still gained weight. My metabolism is so sensitive, I have been ridden with health issues the past few years (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Autoimmune Hives, a benign 6" tumor on my liver causing GI problems) so my diet and exercise is pretty sensitive. I am realizing how much HARD work it takes to get where I want to be, but I am now ready for it.
Now the life changing realizations came this year after my boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer. He is fighting for his life, and going through this has made us so much stronger. With this new realization and perspective on how precious life is, I am finally determined to make a change to find a new me so that we can enjoy the rest of our lives together. Once I have reached my goal weight (hopefully in the next year) and after he has finished treatment, I would like to propose to him. This is a huge motivation for myself, he has no idea that it is coming. I know it's not traditional, but it means so much to me to do it after we both have won our battles and have so much to look forward to in life.
Anyways, sorry for the sob story but I felt that sharing about my struggles is the best way to get to know one another. Feel free to add me, I could use some friends in similar places to help motivate me along the way!
