Loose skin while losing weight

Hello Friends,
My weight is currently 107kg and my height is 168cm.
I'm trying to lose only around 1kg per week. And I intend to reach my ideal weight of 80kg.
Do I face the risk of having loose skin when I reach 80kg?

Loose skin is largely genetics but losing weight too quickly can contribute also. With only about 59lbs/26kg to lose total 1kg/2lb/week is a little too much. Drop it down to 0.5kg/1lb a week.2

Be aware that if you do get some loose skin, it can keep shrinking well after you reach goal weight (mine kept shrinking well into year 2 of maintenance, but I'm old ). I only lost about 50 pounds (22.6kg) at age 59-60, but don't really have any distressing amount of loose skin, after a few years in maintenance. People whom I meet now are usually surprised if they learn I was once obese.
You might want to take a look at photos over in the "Success Stories" part of the forum. Some people are quite honest about loose skin, even showing bathing suit photos. Results are very individual, I think many people who are overweight tend to fear that they will have an amount of loose skin that is greater than what will actually occur. Check out the "Success Stories" area, and you can come to your own conclusions, though.
One thing to be aware of: For some of us, like me, the results part way through weight loss look worse than either how we looked at the start of weight loss, or how we look at/after goal. There's a midway point that can be worrying, but don't let it get to you: It will almost certainly keep improving from there.

Genetics and age are big factors in how much or if you will have loose skin at the end. I don't really think losing weight slowly will help with the amount of loose skin you end up with in the end (after a couple years of maintenance), but it MAY help you look better during the weight loss as you are giving the skin more time to adjust.
Gaining the weight is what stretched the skin though, so any "damage" is already done.
Losing slowly is still preferable though and safer.
Don't worry about the possibility of loose skin because you really can't know how much if any you are going to have, and don't let the fear of loose skin stop you from losing the weight and being healthier.0 -
i've lost 40lbs in about 14 months so far and I have loose skin, Keep in mind I already had loose skin on my belly from having a child, but I see loose skin on the back of my legs. I've done weight training throughout so I know my genetics are not helping me right now.0
