I was between 250-300 when I started working jump roping into my workout routine. I couldn’t really go more than about a minute at a time. Now I’m hovering around 240 and do it near the end of most of my workouts. I do it for 10 minutes as follows: go as long as I possibly can and then once I lose it I take a 30 second rest break and then start again. So I do that for 10 minutes. I think it’s great. I was worried how my back, knees, ankles etc would respond but honestly the hardest part was actually pain in my feet/arch of feet that subsided after about a week of getting used to it.

You really should walk before you run, “or jump”, literally.
Hitting plyometrics at that weight when your lower leg structures are unconditioned is incviting injury which will make everything worse.
