Hello! I’m a 31 year-old mom of two. This is my first time ever actively losing weight. It wasn’t something I struggled with until my first pregnancy, three years ago. I gained 10 pounds over my recommended weight gain and never lost the baby weight. Then I was overweight at the beginning of my second pregnancy and gained even more, again didn’t lose it.
My older daughter (almost 3) wanted to use this machine at our grocery store that weighs you, takes bp, calculates bmi etc. She wanted me to do it, so I reluctantly did knowing I wouldn’t like the results. I had a BMI in the obesity range, and it was the last straw that finally made me decide to make a change.
I’m just tired of being huge, uncomfortable, hot, and tired all the time. My younger daughter is sleeping on a regular schedule, and they both reliably take a nap at the same time, so I have the rest and time to focus on my health now.
That grocery trip was on 2/2. I decided to try this app and started counting calories that moment to fit into my weight loss calorie range on here. I also walk twice a day with the girls and started doing yoga during their nap. I gave myself a few days to figure out foods and recipes that keep me in my calorie goal without me feeling hungry. I have done that, so I am committing and starting this lifestyle change.
I am so excited to be more active, I mostly want to be able to play and move around with my kids more. Plus I want to live longer to see them grow up past adulthood.
