I really just need some encourement.

Im on the verge of giving up this weight loss thing at least until I finish breastfeeding in 10 months. I'm too weak right now and best feeding just gives me am excuse for messing up. I don't want to give up cuz I hate seeing myself in the mirror. It depresses me and I just look like a monster below the neck. This is the first time i've felt this way about my body in my whole life and I've always been overweight but not this obese. I weigh 240 again. My husband is not attracted to me any more. He hasn't said it but I can tel l cuz he doesn't look at me with the same gaze. It took me three Weeks to lose 8 pounds and I gave it all up in only 4 days after I let my mother in law seduce me with too much food.food. Its just too hard. Thanks for reading

  • You need to do this for you...not anyone else...I have the same issue with my mother n law pushing food at me(its in their culture) but I just have to keep telling her NO, I am on a diet/eating healthier! It took a long time, and with my husband backing me up for her to let go of it...the key is for you to be strong and not give in. Now since I found MFP just a few weeks ago it has helped motivate me, I am more positive, and I have more confidence in myself...my husband can see a difference and is actually more affectionate to me...maybe its not that your husband isn't attracted to you anymore but your negativity or self doubt is making him push away from you...please don't think I'm being disrespectful. If you want you can add me and we can keep each other motivated.

    Congrats on your new baby!
Are you able to broach the subject with your husband? He loves you and would probably love to help. Perhaps he could speak with his mom and ask her to stop pushing food on you. Although, you need to advocate for yourself as well.
Anyway, make a plan . . . choose one habit to change this week . . . and stick to it! Love yourself, be kind to yourself. You want to be able to play with your baby. : ) But do it for you . . . Good luck!

OP I just had my baby in late January andI am also breastfeeding.I've tried to lose the weight before but kept falling off the bandwagon.Today was the first day I made it through without caving in.If you want a buddy for support feel free to add me.I am also looking for friends to motivate and encourage me as I embark in this weight loss journey.
  • toofitt, You can do this.

Be a little patient right now. Your body has just been through the greatest challenge a person can face, nurturing and delivering a baby. It went through tremendous physical and chemical changes. With you still feeding your baby, the body's focus is producing the nourishment this baby needs.

Take your own baby steps in getting to be a healthier you. A lot of little steps will ad up to big change over time. This journey to a healthier you, is a marathon, NOT a sprint.

Tiring as it is now enjoy that baby. This time is so precious and they grow up so fast.
