What to fuel with long runs ?

Cant stand gels or gummies or sports beans. What are real food alternatives i can use while running a half ?

    Dates are one of my favorites! I've also done fig newtons before and dried mango, but I found pitted dates (or those date rolls with coconut on the outside) to be the easiest to get down

    Another vote for tailwind and their recovery drink. Although I mainly ran on water alone up to that distance. A cheap option is water, orange juice (not dilute) with a pinch of salt.

    Dates, jelly bellies, figs, banana, juice. For a half you don't really need anything if you eat carbs for breakfast and the day before. Your body can store enough for about 20 miles.
