Focusing on macronutrients

Hi all! I've never been a dieter, because they don't work (IMO). But starting today I'm going to be focusing on my percentages of macronutrients each day. I'm brand new to this, anybody else trying to lose weight this way? If so, friend me! And please share any tips/advice you may have. I used a couple different online calculators to get a rough idea of what percentages I should be doing, but will be meeting with a nutritionist in the next couple weeks to get an "expert" opinion.

It's calories that matter for weight loss, but the mix of macros that'll help you stay satiated will be unique to you. You could try the standard MFP uses and then adjust from there. For some folks protein helps them stay satiated, for others it's fat and others it's carbs. Honestly wouldn't bother with a nutritionist if you live in the US or Canada, they're not regulated and seldom well-trained and generally not a good resource. Registered dieticians are more reliable. I think in Australia nutritionists are actually well-educated and regulated, but elsewhere not so much.2

Any percentage will work so long as you're in a calorie deficit.4
