Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I'm looking to lose some weight and improve my health thru logging calories, water & exercise. I have a very difficult time losing weight (hypothyroid does not help).

    Welcome to MFP!

If your hypothyroidism is being properly managed with the correct level of medication, losing weight will be no different than if you weren't hypothyroid. When was the last time you had your levels checked?

Hi, last blood work was about 2 months ago. In the summer they had over medicated me (that was horrible), then I was too low (per numbers) now I feel like things may be about right. I will be going for more blood work /Dr appointment in two weeks. I'm feeling positive... there is so much information out there about what you should and should not eat that its mind numbing!!! I am already gluten free for other health reasons, if I listen to everything out there, it would be too restrictive. Luckily, im not a junk food/fast food person so im hoping that will help. I am also breaking up exercise (brisk walking) 30min in the AM, then 2 other 15 minute walking. hoping this will speed up my metabolism (I have a desk job)

Exercise does not speed up your metabolism. What exercise *will* do for you is burn extra calories, which may be helpful in maintaining the necessary caloric deficit you need to lose weight, let you eat more in a day, or a combination of both. :)
