Frustration

I have been completely perfect for 28 days in a row and the weight is not coming off as I had hoped. Each day I eat 1200 calories and do 30-60 minutes of cardio. I’m unable to do any strength training right niw due to an injury. I believe my diet is very balanced. I have only lost 6 lbs in this time. In my previous experience, WITHOUT cardio, I would lose 3-4 lbs/week especially in the beginning. I’m trying to stay motivated and not give up but I have over 100 lbs to lose. Tips? Suggestions? Thank you!

6 pounds in 28 days is a good rate of loss. Expecting 3 - 4 pounds a week is unrealistic. You're frustration is born of impatience, not lack of progress.25

6 pounds in a month is excellent progress, we'll done!8

1) How recent was this injury? Was there surgery associated with it? Major trauma to your body can cause water retention as part of the healing process.
2) Are you using a food scale to track how much you are eating?
3) 6 lbs in a month is a good rate of loss when you're healthy. If your body is healing from an injury, it could even be way too fast and could be compromising your healing.10 -
How long did it take you to gain that 100 pounds??
You should expect that it will take about twice as long to permanently lose 100 pounds while maintaining a healthy fitness. 6 pounds in one month is very
fast, and even maintaining a rate of 4 pounds a month is quite rapid.
You probably want this to last the rest of your life, so many months of concentrated effort will be needed. Practice your patience!!5 -
I hope you're at least eating exercise calories back. 1200 cal is likely unnecessarily low for you, but assuming that your'e accurately eating 1200cal and doing exercise you're actually under-eating. You don't want to do that.8

........and what is wrong with this loss????
Remember...its not just about the loss for a moment in time but learning new habits that can be maintained for a lifetime.
Are you just looking for a loss for a certain reason or just a point in time and gain it back??? New habits and lifestyle take quite some time.....hopefully this is not just so you can fit in that bridesmaid dress this summer....if it's for vanity lbs...well okay2 -
Adjust your expectations. 6 lbs is awesome!7

As others have said, 3-4 pounds lost per week should only happen in the very earliest week or two of a weight loss plan, because that rapid initial loss is mostly water. 3-4 pounds per week is not a safe or sustainable pace of fat loss. Six pounds of fat in one month, if you have 100 pounds to lose, is an entirely reasonable pace of fat loss.4

If you have 100 pounds to lose, 1200 calories is most likely not going to be enough. Your deficit would be too big. 6 pounds is fine at this point. Your weight will fluctuate too to you may have fluid retention masking some fat loss.
This is a long-term deal. 1200 is minimum for small and sedentary females. If you provide your current stats, I'm sure folks can help.
Congratulations on a solid start that absolutely should not frustrate you.6 -
For perspective, it took me 3 years to lose 99#10

First 30-40 almost too fast resulting in almost stopping after 4 months.
Next 70-75 a year. Felt good. In retrospect at times too fast. Heck it took me six months to believe my second leg would fit in my pants without double checking.
Next 25 or so... 2 years. Too slow for someone focused on losing; perfect for someone wanting to continue cultivating long term habits to be used in maintenance.6 -

Why are you eating 1200 calories? I weigh 204 and am losing eating 2400 calories a day.
With my history starving myself like that would end my weight loss journey after one day. Do you have an activity tracker? I use a Fitbit and love it! I go off the calories burned minus 500 so I lose a pound every week4
