Cheat day calories

So today I’m planning to have a cheat day and I’m not gonna go over 2,500 cals. I’m still gonna track most things. Do u think this will affect my weight loss.?? I usually eat around 1400 cals to lose weight.

I had a cheat day yesterday at 2000 cals when I'm supposed to have 1400. I call it victory that I didn't gain and it was one cheat day in two weeks. Next cheat day in 4 weeks...(that's my plan anyway)

yes, it will slow your weight loss down by approximately one day.

^this. Though i usually don't do a whole cheat day because I only have a few pounds to go and a whole day would ruin my deficit for the week. I will add an extra 400-500 calories meal if I need a refeed or something. That only wipes out 1 days deficit instead of 7

What is your maintenance calories? If you are still eating at below maintenance, you will still lose weight, but slower. If you eat at above maintenance, you will add some fat back, but it should be erased in one or 2 days of resuming your deficit.

You may see a "spike" on the scale after having a bigger than normal day do to increased water retention. But that's not the same as gaining fat. It will work itself out after a few days back to normal.

I would not do a cheat day. If you do a "cheat"
or "treat", do one cheat meal because a cheat day is going to derail any progress you made during the week. Eat the cheat meal and move on. Go back to eating healthier options for the following meals.

There is some elasticity to the weight changes you are likely to see when you bump calories up or down as there may be some compensatory changes that also take place at the same time.

That said, over the long term,
an approximately 3500 Cal change to your energy balance equals 1lb.

Your immediate weight change over the next day or two (whether your weight stays the same, bumps up, or even bumps down) is more likely to reflect water weight changes as opposed to the extra calories you will be eating.

    Enjoy your event(s).

You’ll prob go up on scale 2.5 lbs from retaining water but will lose it and then some after 2 days of your normal dieting.
