New and Nervous

Hello there. I've never been good at introductions, I'm essentially a hermit, but I think this is the sort of thing I need to reach out for support for. I'm twenty seven at the time of writing this and almost four hundred pounds. I've been large my whole life and it has never really bothered me, I endured teasing because I had friends who supported me but after my school years I've closed myself off more from the world. The only time I leave the house these days is on the weekends to go with my husband to work and whenever we need to go to the store or other errands.

I want to change this. I'm not the same anymore, and in a way just because I was okay with how I looked doesn't mean I was really happy with it. So, with the support of my husband and hopefully new friends I can pull myself to my feet and get myself in a healthier weight before it DOES become an issue. I shouldn't wait for things to take a turn before I make myself feel better.

I'm going to work through my natural tendency to procrastinate and hopefully get the motivation to keep going with it. Sorry this was so long, but I'd appreciate any tips or thoughts. I've never really done any exercises and things like jumping or running are too intense for my joints for now, so any low impact sort of things would be nice. Also any recommended things to go about food? I have a tendency to eat very rarely, and that is mostly me being the sort of person who puts others needs before my own. I live with my husband and my disabled father and often times I try and make sure they always have something on hand even if I don't -- but tips on cheaper things (we are low income) that I can set aside for myself would be great,

For exercise, you may want to look at water sports. Aquacize, water walking, general swimming. Being in the water takes the pressure off your body, as long as you aren't torquing your joints too much.

Eggs are cheap, full of protien, and keep you fuller longer. Of course fruits and veggies are good. Buy in season to keep cost down, farmer markets are always good to check out. Chicken is good and cheap. If you have pintrest you can read about cooking good meals for cheap.

Excersise I would stick with stretching and just moving as much as you can. Walk to your mailbox, then walk to you mailbox plus 5 steps after, then mailbox and 10 steps. Keep pushing yourself, going a little further and a little longer then the time before. Research begginer stretching to get your body used to moving and using muscle groups to help you stay focused but not burning yourself out.

You got this. One day at a time! Don't give up, and keep getting up everyday with the attitude you can do this.

The most important piece that I've ever given anyone is: don't quit. Literally everything else can be tweaked to find out what works for you.
