To say I'm nervous about introducing myself would be an understatement as I'm a little bit of a hermit and have always been the fat one in my family.
Ive always had a bit of "jelly belly" and a high weight (start weight 202, 5' 5")but have for the most part been fit. Now at 45yrs old, 2 c sections and a total hysterectomy later i have finally been told that my "jelly belly" is actually a hernia and have a fatty liver. My doctor didn't tell me anything else other than "its because you're fat". I have been referred to hospital for surgery (dont know how long the wait is).
Another reason for the need to lose weight is my mum... 4 heart attacks in the past 18 months! Im scared that could be me.
I've been on a 1200cal diet have cut down my portions, only use frylite amongst other changes but always has an orange in the evening (peeling it slowly keeps my hands busy)
I have recently started the nhs couch to 5k training and enjoy it I have one friend who joins me twice during the week then I do a youtube step class at the weekend.
So far in the past 3wks I've lost 5lbs(-4,+2,-3..the plus 2 week i didn't go above 800cals a day so think body started thinking i was starving!
I search the web for low cal meals (family of four to feed and only have wholewheat rice/pasta but im getting there... My target is 168 and no fatty liver which i hope to reach by Summer. (my stepdaughter is getting married!)
Anyway sorry for the essay but just wanted to say hello to everyone thanks for mfp. It really helps.
