Premier protein

Was wondering if anyone had an insight for me. I’ve been drinking premier protein shakes for a while no problem. Within the last week when I drink one I get severe stomach pain and end up throwing it all up. Anyone have any idea what would be causing this?

I personally love the premier protein shakes because they are cheap (at Costco anyway) and they taste pretty good...but my husband also has some issues with his stomach when he drinks them?! It might be whatever artificial sweetener is in them.1

Maybe you've developed a sensitivity to an ingredient - and I agree, it might be the sucralose or more likely the fructooligosaccharide used as sweetening. I found an interesting writeup here: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319299.php0

I agree with the sweetener aspect; they can mess with people in strange ways. I used to like Halo Top and after a while the sugar alcohols in it would make my stomach swell up and my tongue feel weird. Now I don't even go near the stuff.0

Thank you all so much. I definitely will be staying away from them for a while. It took all day for my stomach to feel mostly better.0

I've found that the occasional batch of any of the name brand protein bars I eat will give me occasional trouble.
I have my own theories about quality control in the industry....2 -
I drink 2 a day and don't have an issue. have you had any since you vomited?0

So I was normally drinking the vanilla ones but was getting worn down on them so I switched to chocolate. I was getting the pains and they started to get worse everyday until I threw up one day. I thought it was just the chocolate variety that wasn’t sitting well with me so I went back to the vanilla and it was worse then the day before. The pain lasted all day and I threw up twice.1

Maybe you have a bad batch. You can call the company, give them the info on boxes. Once at my Mom's I was wondering after a few days why there didn't seem to be so much in the box - open the box, so much of the drink had solidified at the bottom. So I used Premier for about a year and a half. Was great to grab for breakfast. I lost weight. But then I read on-line (which of course it's true then lol) that Premier was on the unhealthy list of drinks. It took me a while but I did stop using them. I bought a really cheap mixer (like a Bullet) and I started making smoothies for breakfast. The first week I thought it was rough, so much easier with the Premier. But now it is not bad at all; just grab some stuff from refrig, from freezer and mix up. Well, I know that wasn't your question but just wanted to give you an alternative that is now working for me.2

Thanks. That does help. I usually drink them for lunch so now I’m trying to find something else to have for lunch.1
