Up & down - low carb

Can anyone help with suggestions pls. I've been trying low carb keto the last few weeks and I've been down 2lbs, up 1lb, down 1lb, like a yo-yo.  - problem is im feeling hungry at night and starting to snack again!! It's hard to follow - thankfully I like eggs.  But not suited if it's not sustainable.

Do you have a calorie goal you're hitting or just tracking carbohydrates?

yo-yo weight is normally - your body naturally fluctuates...that being said - are you doing keto/low carb because you feel like you need to? are you logging your food?

Definitely feel the difference with low carb, belly feels less bloated & energy levels are better...just the hunger pangs hit & back to square 1?

If it's hard to follow maybe keto isn't the way of eating for you. To be successful at weight loss you have to figure out which macro helps you stay satisfied. For some it's fat, others carbs, others protein. That being said kind of sounds like what you've been experiencing could be normal fluctuation. Especially if you're only weighing once a week. So long as the long trend is overall a downward one then you should be good but you need about 4-6 weeks to get a good idea if what you're doing is working.

    Perhaps don't do low carb/keto...

There's no metabolic advantage to a low carb diet when protein and calories are matched to a higher carb diet. It just becomes easier to eliminate refined carbohydrates from the diet (added sugar + fat) when you aren't allowed to have any at all.

Maybe sticking to a diet with a wider variety of food choices would help you as long as it puts you in a caloric deficit in the end.
