I have a similar problem, boredom or emotional eating I think is a common problem for anyone trying to lose weight.
Your best thing is to try and keep your mind occupied, if you're bored instead of reaching for a snack go for a walk or do something energetic. Also drink plenty of water it really does help.

    Good luck x

Find something to do. Go for a walk, clean the bathroom, do the dishes, do the laundry, knit, do a puzzle, go to the gym, vacuum/mop/sweep the floors, do some gardening, read a book, paint your nails, take a bath, put on a facial masque, etc. Just find something to do when you are bored so you don't turn to food.

Sugarless gum, various flavored herbal teas, making a rule to only eat when seated with food portioned out have all helped me.

You have to really WANT to change this, or you won't "feel" like trying any of the tips when you are in the midst of wanting to eat. I'm not perfect, but I started with a 5 minute timer... When I found myself starting to graze, hopefully just before, but even if I already started, I set the timer for 5 minutes. I can wait for 5 minutes, and then decide if this is what I really want to spend my time doing... do I really want to sabotage my whole day's efforts with this mindless eating? Often I could find something else to do and escape the emotional eating THIS time. There will always be a next time, but victory THIS time is a great motivator!

Snacks are important, don't cut them out entirely. Make it more of an event something to look forward to, like afternoon tea :) grab a single serving of your fav snack, take time to heat up water pour yourself a cup of herbal tea or coffee. Then just sit slowly and enjoy your snack. I found when I take my time I'm not as prone to eat as much. It's also a good time to relax and reflect.
