My next goal is to lose fat and to maintain muscle. How long does it take the average person to lose fat? Hoping to look more lean for the summer! o6sl7ti758dw.jpeg

How much weight do you have to lose?

There really is no "average" for this. There are a lot of variables that go into fat loss. Based on your pictures, you appear to be already at a healthy weight. That means any weight (fat) loss will be slow. When you are close to your goal weight, it is recommended to lose ~0.5 lb/ week. At that rate if you start now, you would lose about 7 lbs by Memorial Day (which is just under 14 weeks away).
    Super helpful, thank you!!!

It really depends on how much you want to lose. I usually leave myself a good 4-6 months, but I like to take things slow, around 0.5-0.75lb per week.

How much do you want to lose to be leaned out by your definition?

Start there and do the math.

Eh better to start early and go slowly...gives you more time and can minimize muscle loss.
