Increased exercise intensity = ravenous

So I have been lifting heavier 5x a week about 1 hour each time. Made good gains in strength...BUT I am ravenous like 24 hrs a day. I even increased my calories in MFP but I am still finding I end up going over lately by 300 or 400 cals. My cals I put in are my maintenance cals I got through macro calculators. Is this temporary? I feel like it has been 2 weeks of over eating but I am literally starving....anyone else experience this or have advice? I dont want to stop lifting like this but I can't eat this much daily.

    Maybe you should tinker with your macros a bit. Some foods may fill you up better and for longer than others.

    It's not a temporary thing for me. But my degree of hunger isn't at the level you report - so maybe when your new training level becomes "normal" your hunger will subside?

    Hard strength training or intense cardio both create hunger out of proportion with the actual calorie burns for me.
    On the other hand long duration low to moderate intensity cardio with large to very large calorie burns creates very little hunger. But that's very personal and you will find other people have exactly the opposite exercise/hunger responses.

    Experimenting with food choices or food timing may help reduce or blunt your hunger. A post exercise recovery meal of roughly 4:1 carbs to protein might be worth trying?
