I am looking to do some core strengthing. Both pilates and yoga appear to strengthen the core, but wondering if one is truly better than the other. Thought/s? Thanks.

    I enjoy both.

Try both and pick whichever you like more because you'll be more likely to stick with it. Or just do both.

I don't think one is better than another, it's just what you are comfortable with. Pilates tends to be a slightly more active form of core workout (although they have something called "Veda Yoga" or something like that? HARDCORE SWEAT stuff) and yoga more mellow. I like Pilates, personally, because I enjoy the movement and change up in poses. (I admire the hell out of yoga people because they hold those positions FOREVER!)

I use Cassey Ho's Pop Pilates on Youtube. Here is her beginner's workout. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCg_gh_fppI
