Only 4lbs down in 3 weeks. Bummed.

Been working with a personal trainer for 3 weeks. He customizes my routines but he’s not with me all the time. Granted, he’s there ever watching. Amazing guy.
Mostly strength training. I’m expected to do my own cardio and I’m bad about it. Can’t lie.
Was 8lbs down at the doctor 2 weeks ago so I’m like...what gives?!?!
Granted, my clothes fit a bit differently. I hate these number games with the scale. Always discouraged me. Now, I won’t be stopping even if I’m a little bummed and heart broken. I’ll keep it up. But I’m just like what gives?!?!
Open to advice and words of wisdom as well as new friends. Thanks!

ONLY?!?!?!?!
I say that's good results, especially for starting a new workout routine. A lot of people don't even lose because water weight from a new exercise routine is masking weight loss.3 -
4lbs in 3 weeks is great progress! If you just started working out you are probably retaining some water for muscle repair. Also remember that most of weight loss happens with diet, not exercise. Are you counting calories?
If you need a little extra motivation, take body measurements along with stepping on the scale. You could loss in inches even if the scale doesn't move at all or as quickly as you would like.2 -
The only problem you have is unrealistic expectations. More than a pound per week is awesome.

I’m definitely working with nutrition. I log every day and stay well within my caloric intake. I’m trying to pay attention to my macros as well. My trainer gets my food logs every day and said he sees nothing I need to change. He hasn’t honed in on my nutrition hardcore yet because he says he wants me to develop good habits and progress before focusing on what deep changes to make there.
Thank you for your words, everyone.0 -
Were these two readings on tge same scale? If not may be just difference in calibration0
