Hi all, I had a 50 lb success loss a few years ago with mfp, have used it pretty consistently since but did gain some weight during the times I wasn’t consistent. Now back at the strict calorie counting in addition to my exercise regimen I had an initial slight drop and weight, now up a pound. Anyone else have issues like this?

And yes I am female and know my water weight fluctuates with my period but up an entire lb is a bit unusual.

Thanks!

Shouldn't be that unusual. I'm a guy and fluctuate anywhere from 2-5 pounds each day.

Everybody fluctuates. All the time. Whether you are watching the scale or not. 4-6 weeks should give you an idea if what you're doing is working. 1 week almost never does.

I fluctuate all the time. Up to 5 pounds. I am up 3 pounds from my weight on Saturday. But, also indulged in some very good food and beer Saturday and yesterday. Totally normal.

I went up 6lbs overnight after my birthday meal out. Normal

If I eat spaghetti for dinner tomorrow, I'll weigh 3 extra pounds the next morning. It is what it is and it will disappear over the next few days. Even if I was within my calorie goal for the day. My "weight loss" is a zig zaggy lines of up and down that trend downward.

1lb isn't unusual at all, I am up and down as much as 5lbs daily.

I wish I gained as little as 1 lb before my period. Some months it's been 7.

As other said - no biggie.... in 2 weeks I was down almost 5 - yesterday got on the scale - was back up 3 (I ate some salty pretzels so I know I retained water) Still up a little yet today - but it will disappear over the next few days....Just stay on track - the scale will follow eventually.

Also, adding a new exercise regimen will almost guarantee water retention. I felt super sore this morning after my lift yesterday. I thought to myself, “I bet I’m up a lb today” and the scale confirmed my assumption.

I can fluctuate big time. For example, and sorry for the crassness, but, If I do not poop for a day, I am holding a lot of waste weight.
